Backstage at the L.A.M.B. Spring 2011 fashion show, the beauty look was classic Gwen Stefani punk rock glamour, with vibrant red lips, a copper smoked-out eye and an ornately braided updo with an alternative appeal.

details like off-the-shoulder and midriff-baring styling. The beauty look added to the drama with statement eyes, lips, nails and hair that all had a street edge.

'It's a tribal and punk look mixed together in a glamorous way,' Willer told StyleList of the heavily inked lower lash lines paired with copper and bronze smoky shadows. 'We're pushing the limit, but still staying fabulous so that it's not so outrageous that women can't relate to it in any way.' Contoured cheekbones enhanced the dimension of the deep red lips, and some models wore a lush glossy pink gloss instead.

Hair expanded upon the tribal theme, with large braids wrapped around tousled updo's. 'I'm really vibing on the multi ethnicity feel. Braids are Japanese, African American, German and found in so many other cultures. And it looks great on Gwen, we love incorporating braids into her red carpet and music video looks,' said Danilo, who's also Stefani's personal hair stylist.

Extensions colored by the new ammonia-free Inoa color by L'Oreal Professionnel were worked into the styles for contrast and added volume and fullness.

Nails were a dark blue that was custom-mixed before the show by combining four different CND nail polish shades. 'Gwen said she wanted a dark blue on the nails, but she didn't want it to read black on the runway,' said CND co-founder Jan Arnold.

GET THE LOOK - MAKEUP: All makeup by Maybelline. Use Eye Shadow Quad in Give Me Gold #5 to highlight the browbones, inner corners and the tops of the cheekbones. Run the copper shade from the inside of the orb through the crease in a half circle, blending well to smoke it out into a cat's eye shape. Add the yellow shade to the full length of the lid and lacquer a strong black line beneath the lower lashes, winging it out into the cat's eye. Build up several coats of The Falsies Mascara, and contour cheekbone hollows with a deep bronze face powder. Finish with Deep Red Lipstick #645, or for the pink-glossed look, Tempting Toffee Lipgloss #55.

GET THE LOOK - HAIR: All styling products by L'Oréal Professionnel. Clip in an extension near the front of the face, divide it into three sections, and make a long braid. Work Density Spray through the extensions to help mold them into a style, and sweep the rest of the hair back into an asymmetrical ponytail on the back of the head, only pulling it halfway through the elastic. Add contrasting color hair pieces to the braided area, and artfully pin pieces back or to the sides. "Adding height to the front of the head always gives off a sense of attitude," said Danilo.

GET THE LOOK - NAILS: All products by CND. Blend Speedy, Inkwell, Studio White and Anchor together to create a dark blue hue that's just a one level above a midnight navy. We hear that a shade set to launch in Fall 2011 is nearly identical to the shade custom-mixed at L.A.M.B.

Hmm, do we smell a designer nail collaboration in the making?
