1. What does fashion mean to you?
Darius Gibbs: It means everything to me. I love fashion. I love wearable fashion like Dark by Fusion.
2. When did you realize you wanted to become a fashion designer and how long have you been designing clothes?
Darius Gibbs: Fashion is my world and I have been designing clothes since I was a teenager as I used to design, cut and stitch my own clothes. My father is a tailor and my mother is a dressmaker. It’s in my DNA to be a fashionista. I have been working in the fashion industry for more than 20 years and decided to create my own collections that everybody can wear.

3. How long does it take to construct a piece (or collection?)
Darius Gibbs: If we are going to follow the process then there is a calendar that we use. You have to pick a season when you plan to sell your collection and then work you work on the trend, concepts and inspiration. It all depends on how aggressive you are and how much time you have left. It could happen overnight, couple of days, a week or even 2 weeks. Constructing a piece is not that hard but doing the process is the difficult one.

4. How do you prepare for a fashion show?
Darius Gibbs: We normally work on what kind of looks we need to showcase and then we do model casting. After we’ve picked the right model then we work with styling the model depending on what looks, etc, and then get the proper accessories to accessorize them to give the overall look.

5. What are some of your accomplishments as a designer?
Darius Gibbs: Wow, first off, having media love our collections and having them write about it and of course gaining a lot of exposure overall. We've been getting a tremendous amount of feedback from everyone that my collections and designs are awesome. The other thing is having major department stores like MACY’S, DILLARDS, NORDSTROM, LORD & TAYLOR loving my brand and wanting to carry them in the stores.
