What does fashion mean to you?
Fashion is a way of expressing yourself. I always say that your image educates others on how you want to be approached.
When did you realize you wanted to become a fashion designer and how long have you been in the fashion and cosmetics industry?
Well I have loved fashion since I was young. I used to play in my mom’s closet and try on her shoes and clothes. When I was 17 I decided that it was time that I make a statement in the fashion industry, so I started The Billioheir Girls Club. I launched a line of fashionable polos a long with jewelry. Then when I was 18 years old, I launched Superstar Nail Lacquer. So I’ve been in the cosmetic industry for 3 years now.
How do you create a new, fashionable concept for The Billionheir Girls Club Collection and Superstar Nail Lacquer?
As The Billionheir Girls Club expanded, guys wanted to read my blog and get feedback so I switched my brand to just The Billionheir’s Club. I moved from designing shirts for young girls to starting my nail polish company, Superstar Nail Lacquer. So when I’m designing the new collection for Superstar Nail Lacquer, I create and match colors to the runways. I always make sure that my lacquers are fast drying because I know women on the go love to wear my line.

As a motivational speaker, how do you prepare for a speaking engagement?
I prepare for speaking engagements by first researching my audience. I have learned that you cannot prepare the same for every group. It’s always the same message I’m getting across, but it may include a different method. I make sure to prepare weeks in advance so I’m confident in my approach. My mother taught me that a prepared person is never wasted.
What are some of your accomplishments as an author?
Some of my accomplishments as an author is that I written over 4 books before the age of 21. I’ve been able to reach young people in a creative way through writing to help change their lives.
At this time, what is your favorite spring 2011 fashion accessory?
My favorite spring 2011 fashion accessory has to do with nails of course! My favorite nail trend is sporting the pop art designs. This season is all about expressing yourself through your nails and letting loose.

As a fashion designer, author, and motivational speaker, what matters to you the most?
What matters to me the most is to see other young people succeed and fulfill their dreams now. I write books and create products, like my 30 Days To Making It Kit, that helps young people develop the actions and attitudes they need to live their dreams.
What is the future for The Billionheir Girls Collection and Superstar Nail Lacquer?
Well now that The Billionheir Girls Club is now The Billionheir’s Club blog, I will continue to bring my readers what’s new, what’s hot, and what’s to come. Superstar Nail Lacquer will continue to grow and become global. We’ll make sure to bring you the hottest colors for each season.

Simple Skin Beauty: Must Have Skin Care Handbook!

Part of the mission for this blog is to not only feature "highlights" from the fashion industry, but to also engage readers with information about beauty and style.
If you are on a quest to have perfect, radiant skin we have a treat for you! Ellen Marmur, MD and Gina Way are the authors of a "must have" skin care book titled Simple Skin Beauty. The contents of this book explain several of the questions we ask ourselves about skin care on a daily basis. Examples of the book content include how the skin works; factors that influence your skin; what does a dermatologist do; and can anti-aging products make you look younger.

This book captured my attention by asking readers to start with a Skin Evaluation. By participating in a skin evaluation, this guides readers to the next chapter titled, Factors That Influence Our Skin. Knowing what factors influence your skin helps us get to the root of the problem before we can discover a solution. According to Marmur and Way, " For instance, eating spicy food and drinking alcohol tend to make rosacea worse. If that happens to be the case for you, managing the problem is clear: an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."

The authors also go into detail with additional information that could hinder healthy skin such as heredity and ethnic background; medications; and hormones. And lastly, they explain cosmetic procedures that deliver or produce results. Procedures include chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and laser treatments. To conclude the handbook (located in the back) is a section for questions and answering. Participants ask the authors, " If I stop Botox or Dysport, will the lines get worse? Is it preventative?"

Often, I receive compliments about my skin and complexion from family and friends. But honestly, I am very particular about skin care because I suffer from a hereditary skin disease call Eczema. Eczema is considered to be extreme inflammation to the outer layer of the skin which can result in dryness, itching, or redness. But over the years, I have discovered (with the help of my mother) how I can take a negative and turn it into a positive, by learning techniques that will help combat extreme dryness.

Fashion Divas, let's have radiant skin and educate others on how to be beautiful in our natural state. Check out the book, Simple Skin Beauty and try a new skin care regimen that's going to lead you to a path of gorgeous skin! I strongly recommend that you purchase this book!

Mum Revelations - Renee Lee

Brisbane fashion designer Renee Lee thinks tweenagers are becoming more fashion conscious.
1. Where do I reside

In 2011 I am living at New Brighton in Northern NSW with my family for the year.

2. What is special about where we live.

We live on 1/2 an acre across the road from the beach. Life is very relaxed here and the kids can play in the back yard every afternoon and on weekends ,and they get the chance to grow up like I did, riding bikes and making shops and bike jumps in the back yard. I love the small community feel of New Brighton and I feel very spoilt to be living across the road from the beach and being able to walk on it regularly.

3. How did I get my business started.

I have been thinking about starting Little Mouse Brown since my youngest daughter was born. I have always found there is a large gap in children's clothing for ages 8 - 12. I have been stock piling design ideas for years!! My youngest daughter is now 5 and at school so last year I decided that I might have the time for this business so I took my ideas off to a pattern maker and away I went.....

4. What is your favourite childhood memory.

Making cubby houses with my brothers in the back yard.

5. What are some memories that you would like to create for your children.

I like to spend as much time with them as I can so hopefully the will look back and remember sharing time with my husband and myself  at the beach, playing in the backyard, riding to the shop to buy bread , milk and lollies!! and teaching them to cook.

6. Who inspires you?

My parents because they have always worked very hard whilst retaining a wonderful sense of family and my Husband because he is so positive and always encourages me to try new things.

7. Describe your perfect day.

My perfect day .......   waking up to a beautiful sunny day in late summer early autumn and going for a walk on the beach with my husband, cooking the kids pancakes for breakfast and then riding to the shop as a family to buy the newspaper , coffee and letting the kids choose a lolly each. Then returning home to read the papers while the kids play in the yard. Having lunch as a family and then heading to the beach for the afternoon and boogie boarding with the kids and then coming home and sharing a bottle of wine with my husband while we cook seafood paella as a family...... my perfect day!

8. Favourite Holiday Destination.

New York and Moreton Island!! Total contrast but both wonderful places to be.

9. What are some of your favourite items that you cannot live without

Some of my vintage dresses, A White Lace "Lover" Dress, My " Karen Walker" Trench coat, Moroccan Oil for my Hair, Botanicals vitamin C serum for my face at night, My apple computer and my new canon camera.

10. What is my favourite product for kids and why.

"Milk" sun-cream. We have to apply sun-cream every day and its non greasy, moisturising, smells nice and it really does protect them from getting burnt when they are at the beach.....

11. What is one product that you bought that you did not need but just had to have.

An apple Ipad.

12. Your favourite children's fashion label.

Little Mouse Brown of course!!

13. What is your families favourite meal.

Green Chicken Curry

14. Are you a fashion Conscious Mother? If so what is your favourite label.

I love fashion and I have 2 favourite labels. Lover and Karen Walker.

15. What is the best thing about being a mother.

Waking up to my 3 beautiful children every morning and loving them so much.

16. A favourite photo.

This is one of my favourite photos. It is a picture of me and my 3 children, Indee, Riley and Zaya. It was taken 2 1/2 years ago. We were at the weddings of one of my dearest friends and the 3 children were in the wedding party. I had my doubts whether they would all perform there duties on the day and they all did exactly what was asked of them. Phil and I were so proud!

Thank you for sharing Renee. x
